The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

Lance Cpl. Nicholas C. Kirven, 21, of Richmond, Va., was killed May 8 as a result of enemy action in Alishang, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations. He was assigned to 3^rd Battalion, 3^rd Marine Regiment, 3^rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
