GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. William J. Lennox, Jr., for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as superintendent, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. Lennox is currently serving as the chief, Legislative Liaison, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.
