Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
Lt. Gen. Malcolm R. O'Neill, United States Army, will be placed
on the retired list in his current grade. O'Neill will retire
after completion of more than 34 years of service. Since
November 1993, he has been serving as the director, Ballistic
Missile Defense Organization, Washington, DC.
O'Neill was born on March 25, 1940, in Chicago, Ill.
