Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today
that the President has nominated Rear Admiral James O. Ellis,
Jr., U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and
assignment as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Plans, Policy
and Operations, N3/N5, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in
the Pentagon. Rear Admiral Ellis is currently serving as
Commander Carrier Group FIVE in Yokosuka, Japan.
Rear Admiral Ellis was born July 20, 1947, in
Spartanburg, South Carolina.
