Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
MAJOR GENERAL
Army Brig. Gen. Michael J. Marchand has been nominated for appointment to the grade of major general with assignment as the assistant judge advocate general, United States Army, Washington, D.C. Marchand is currently serving as the commander, United States Army Legal Services Agency/chief judge, Arlington, Va.
Army Brig. Gen. Thomas J. Romig has been nominated for appointment to the grade of major general with assignment as the judge advocate general, United States Army, Washington, D.C. Romig is currently serving as the assistant judge advocate general for military law and operations, United States Army, Rosslyn, Va.
BRIGADIER GENERAL
Army Col. Elder Granger has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Granger is currently serving as the chief, Health Policy and Services, Office of the Surgeon General, Falls Church, Va.
Army Col. George W. Weightman has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Weightman is currently serving as the chief, Medical Corps Branch, United States Total Army Personnel Command, Alexandria, Va.
