Prerequisites: None
Course Goal: To provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) at a WFO or Service Coordination Hydrologist (SCH) at a RFC.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
Course Content: This course covers topics on communication techniques and media responses, interaction with local, state and national agencies, storm and flood assessments; post disaster surveys, spotter networks establishment and maintenance, operational warning philosophy, customer relations and development, effective outreach presentations, conflict resolution and basic principles of time management.
ACE Accreditation: The American Council on Education has not reviewed this course for recommendation of college credit.
