Heart disease is preventable. In fact, by leading a healthy lifestyle, Americans can lower their risk of heart disease by as much as 82 percent. This means following a heart healthy eating plan, getting regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and not smoking. Women often think making these lifestyle changes is an overwhelming job. But it doesn't have to be. Make changes one step at a time. Set realistic goals. Get encouragement from friends and family. Reward yourself. And above all, remember that taking action now can mean a longer, healthier life for you and those you love.

To help women take action to protect their heart health, The Heart Truth invites you to participate in our healthy action community—online venues with free tools and resources to help you protect your heart health and share The Heart Truth with others. Join us in this landmark heart health awareness movement that is being embraced by millions who share the common goal of greater awareness and better heart health for all women!
