Boston, MA -- Fire safety and prevention is everyone's concern. October 6 - 12, 2002 is Fire Prevention Week. Effective fire safety depends on teamwork.
| WHO: | Hebron Fire Chief Bill Borst, Victoria Avelis, Chairperson Hebron Board of Selectman, State Representative Pamela Sayer and Daniel A. Craig, Regional Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will be joined by representatives from Congressmen Larson's office. Members of the fire company and community organizations will also be present for the event. |
| WHAT: | The Hebron Fire Department was awarded a fire assistance grant of $32,400.00 from the FEMA and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) for the purchase of equipment. The Assistance to Firefighters grant program is designed to improve the safety and health of the nation's fire service and the communities they serve. |
