NEWINGTON, N.H. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New Hampshire Bureau of Emergency Management announce new hours for the four Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) serving six New Hampshire counties deluged by the May floods. Effective immediately, the centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday. The DRC locations are as follows:

New Hampshire residents and business owners in Belknap, Carroll, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford counties affected by the severe storms and floods are still urged to register for assistance first by calling FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The TTY number is 1-800-462-7585 for those who are speech or hearing-impaired.

pplications can also be done online at www.fema.gov. After applying, those who have questions may visit a center to meet face-to-face with recovery specialists.

Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies, as well as loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be on hand to answer questions and provide recovery information.

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
