Lenexa, KS - To better assist Kansas residents and business owners who sustained losses from recent storms and tornadoes, the Disaster Recovery Center in Liberal, (Seward County) Kansas will relocate to Kismet, Kansas and open again on June 17 at:

Kismet, Kansas
The Disaster Recovery Center will be open Tuesday, June 17 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Effective Wednesday, June 18 the hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center will be open on Sunday, June 22 only, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
"People can call FEMA toll-free at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing or speech-impaired, to find out about assistance programs and the status of their applications," said Mike Hall, Federal Coordinating Officer.
Individuals and businesses that suffered damages from the severe storms and tornadoes that occurred between May 4 and May 30, have until July 7, 2003 to register for assistance by calling toll-free 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those who are hearing or speech-impaired can call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585.
Farmers and ranchers are encouraged to apply for disaster assistance. If the primary residence on a farm or ranch was damaged or destroyed by the recent disaster, state and federal assistance may be available by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Agri-business losses are not covered by FEMA programs.
Farmers and ranchers can apply for assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency (FSA). For information on FSA programs, individuals should call their local county offices.
