Disaster Recovery Center Remains Open This Weekend

Parsons, KS -- State and federal officials announced that the joint federal/state Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) recently opened in Parsons, Kansas, will remain open this weekend. The DRC is located at:

City Municipal Building (Basement)
112 South 17th St.
Parsons, Kansas 67357

The DRC operating hours are from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, daily.

The DRC is designed to provide more detailed program information to residents of Crawford, Labette, and Neosho counties who have already applied for assistance by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) toll-free registration number: 1-800-462-9029 (TTY 1-800-462-7585).

Federal Coordinating Officer Louis Botta said, "We want to emphasize that we'll be available this Mother's Day weekend in order to provide service to as many people as possible."

State of Kansas Coordinating Officer, Anne Allen added, "Anyone affected, even if you were uninsured, under-insured or your insurance policy did not cover some of your damages or losses, who has still not yet registered with the toll-free number, is encouraged to do so."

In addition, those people who have registered, and have information that may have changed, for instance, telephone numbers or addresses where they can be contacted, are encouraged to update their information by calling FEMA's toll-free Helpline number: 1-800-525-0321 (TTY 1-800-462-7585).
