A tropical disturbance in the ICZ during the 2005 Hurricane Season, as seen by the GOES-12 satellite on August 12, 2005. This system would eventually develop into Hurricane Katrina fourteen days later.

Viewing the Images

All images come in two resolution sizes. Low resolution images are typically 640 x 480 pixels. The high resolution images are usually 1280 x 960 pixels or larger. In some cases, very large format 300 dpi images are available for printing.
