Federal Register Notices

NOAA Fisheries is a federal regulatory agency. That means it makes and implements regulations based on the laws and policies passed by Congress under which the agency operates. The major laws with which the Northwest Region works are the:

The Federal Register is a legal newspaper published every business day by the National Archives and Records Administration. It’s the official daily publication for federal agency regulations, proposed rules and notices, executive orders, proclamations, and other presidential documents. The Federal Register is updated daily by 6 a.m. Eastern time, and is published Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.

The Northwest Region’s regulatory activities are published in the Federal Register. The links to the left include the region’s Federal Register notices (FRNs) for the years listed, covering all subjects, in reverse chronological order.
