Retired Air Force Gen. James P. McCarthy will conduct a press briefing on the results of the Defense Transformation Study, Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781.
The study was undertaken by the Institute for Defense Analyses, and conducted by McCarthy and a group of senior military professionals, scientific advisors and intelligence specialists. Its purpose was to provide Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld with new concepts and approaches to transform the military.
This special briefing will be in lieu of the regular DoD news briefing.
