Digital Coast

How to Use this Site

Several items make the Digital Coast website unique:

  • A focus on coastal issues
  • The delivery not only of data, but also the tools, training, and information that turn that data into useful information
  • The use of partners and website users to drive content
  • Content that is provided from a variety of sources
  • A partnership network that provides leadership for the website, while bringing organizations together to address coastal issues

There are many different ways to approach the website. Some people know what data or tools they need, so they head straight for those links. Others are more interested in the "In Action" section, where people can see how their peers are using the components of the Digital Coast to address coastal issues. The fastest way to get to the "Download Data" feature is from the link on the front page.

No matter how someone approaches the website, the blue box on the right-hand side of each primary page is a useful tool. Inside the box are listed the associated tools, data, training, or information needed to get the full benefits of the resources shown on that page. This "soup to nuts" concept is what allows users to effectively turn data into the information needed to address coastal challenges.

Submitting Content

The strength of the Digital Coast lies in its focus on the needs of the coastal resource management community. The Digital Coast partnership network and the user communities that this network represents are continuously working to grow this endeavor by defining, prioritizing, and obtaining future Digital Coast content.
