Since 1873, graduates have donated to their class gift to commemorate their years at KU. The 2009 Senior Advisory Board chose the senior class gift to be a new flagpole in front of Strong Hall. A plaque will be placed next to the gift commemorating the Class of 2009.
A student group has populated KU's historic lake with a small group of Asian grass carp. The fish will take bites out of the overgrown foliage choking the lake in an effort to return the lake to an improved state within a few years.
