Careers Diversity
Diversity and inclusion are essential to the successful implementation of the Commission's Strategic Plan. FERC relies on the talents and capabilities of employees of different ages, races, ethnicities, physical abilities, genders, and sexual orientations to ensure effective oversight of the energy industry by creating a work environment that maximizes the potential of all employees.
To attract, develop, and retain a diverse workforce, we apply several key principles. First, we maintain a respectful work environment free from harassment and discrimination. Secondly, FERC actively recruits and hires qualified employees from all groups of individuals. Finally, we continue to remind our employees that a truly diverse workforce is essential to achieving Commission goals.
Some of the programs and observances that help FERC to promote a diverse workforce are: M.L. King, Jr. Week, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Women’s Equality Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, Disability Employment Awareness Month, and Native American Heritage Month.
