Targeted at Ethiopia's single largest ethnic group, roughly 40 percent of the population of the nation who live in central and southern Ethiopia. Afaan Oromoo is also spoken by Oromo living in northern Kenya and by Oromoo exiles in Sudan, Djibouti, Middleast and around the world.

Afaan Oromoo broadcasts a 30-minute program Monday through Friday from 1730 to 1800 UTC/GMT on the following frequencies:

13870 on the 22-meter band

11520, 11905, 11925 and 12140 on the 25-meter band
