Anna V. Cochrane, Deputy Director

    Anna V. Cochrane became Deputy Director of the Office of Enforcement in September, 2006. Before assuming her current position, she served as Director of the Division of Tariffs and Markets Development – East in the Office of Energy Markets and Reliability. Ms. Cochrane has over 25 years experience in the energy industry, having worked both in private industry and at the Commission. She began her career at the Commission as a natural gas pipeline certificate analyst, then as a rate analyst, and as a Commissioner's assistant.

    Ms. Cochrane left the Commission in 1992 to head up the Washington office of the former MidCon Corp., whose primary asset was Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL). In 1994 she was named Vice President of Federal Government Relations for MidCon, with responsibilities for both federal regulatory and legislative policy, and continued in that position with KN Energy following a merger. In 1999, Ms. Cochrane left KN Energy to join the Washington office of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy, representing both the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Companies and Consumers Energy at the Commission. Ms. Cochrane returned to the Commission in October of 2002 as a Group Manager in the Office of Markets Tariffs and Rates.

    Ms. Cochrane received a Bachelors degree in international economics from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. She is married and has two sons.
