Tigrigna is believed to be the oldest Ethiopian language. It is spoken in Tigrai, one of 11 regions in Ethiopia, and in neighboring Eritrea. It is a national language of Eritea, which has a population of 5.6 million. Arabic is also an official language of that country. There are also Tigrigna speakers in other parts of Ethiopia. The Tigrigna service broadcasts a 30-minute program on Monday through Friday from 1900 to 1930 UTC/GMT on the following frequencies: 13870 on the 22-meter band 11520, 11905, 11925 & 12149 on the 25-meter band Each weekday air show begins with the day's top news followed by interviews from Eritrea and Ethiopia and these weekly features: Monday: Science, Technology & Agriculture Tuesday: Eritreans in America Wednesday: People to People Thursday: Youth or Health Friday: Africa in the US Press
