OAKVILLE, Iowa -- The community of Oakville and the surrounding area are invited to participate in the Oakville City Council Work Session with the Community Vision Committee and community leaders on Thursday, November 20.

Work Session will be held at the Oakville Community Building from 6 to 8 p.m . and is an opportunity for area residents to review, discuss and comment on Long-Term Community Recovery (LTCR) planning activities for Oakville.

"This type of forum provides a chance for people living in and around Oakville to give their input on what the future will look like for this community," said Tina Potthoff, Rebuild Iowa Office Communications Director. "During the recovery process, we must work together on all levels to create a bigger and stronger Iowa."

When considering community safety, Theresa Wykert, with the Oakville Public Safety and Community Services Task Force noted that with the assistance of the Sheriff's Department and the State Drug Enforcement Task Force , "We are establishing a Community Watch Group …(bringing) individuals together with a common goal of making our community a safe place to live by reinforcing communication between neighbors and law enforcement officials."
