INTRODUCING A NEW 5-DAY TRAINING

Tuition for this comprehensive 5-day training is $1195 / $1095 with early registration.

The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) means billions of dollars in new grant opportunities for nonprofit organizations, counties, and municipalities. That short-term stimulus package, however, is only a part of the overall Federal grant making effort. More than $300 billion in Federal grants are awarded each year.

With the likely decline in foundation and corporate giving, your organization may now be considering the potential for Federal grant funds. If you are, this is the time to prepare your organization both for the immediate opportunities and for the long-term demands of the years ahead. While some organizations may be too small to benefit from Federal funds, or may have purposes that do not make them appropriate grant recipients, many organizations that could apply for Federal grants do not do so because they think it is too complicated or confusing.

Learning the ropes of GrantsmanshipIt's true: the federal review process has always been very competitive. You can expect this to increase for proposals submitted in response to the ARRA. The Obama administration's demands for accountability, outcomes, and transparency make the quality of your proposals more crucial now than ever.

Because our Grantsmanship Center trainers have had years of experience preparing successful federal grant applications and guiding others through this process, we're ready and able to offer this new 5-day training program that is tailor-made to help you meet today's challenges.

Competing for Federal Grants has the quality and depth that have earned the Grantsmanship Center a reputation for excellence over nearly four decades. The Grantsmanship Center trainers who designed and will deliver this training have won millions of dollars in federal grants in some of the most demanding federal competitions. They are experts on the proposal review process; they are active and prolific grant proposal writers; and they know what's happening in the field.

Competing for Federal Grants will equip you with the skills you need to develop proposals that will be competitive at the national level. The training is designed for all who need to:

We'll use recent application guidelines and funded proposals for presentations, classroom discussion and hands-on activities. If you're planning to respond to a particular set of application guidelines, we encourage you to bring the guidelines with you to class, so you can use them in the week's exercises. During the training, you'll develop a workplan for proposal development, write key proposal sections, review proposals drafted by your peers, and have your own work reviewed by others.

After you graduate, you will have an important added benefit: After completing the training, you may submit a proposal for a review by your trainer. You'll also enjoy a year of access to the Grantsmanship Center's online data base of federal grant programs and announcements, state funding sites, and private funders.

Competing for Federal Grants will debut June 22-26, 2009 at The Grantsmanship Center in Los Angeles. Please see the training schedule for additional locations
