PALO, Iowa -- Residents of Palo and the surrounding communities have an opportunity to view the results of recent community-wide recovery planning efforts at a three (3) -day Open House on November 20, 21, and 22.

The Open House is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday November 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, November 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cedar River Garden Center, 2889 Palo Marsh Rd., Palo, IA.

The event will highlight the collected recovery ideas from Rebuild Palo Together Visioning Day, From Vision to Goals Workshop and previously held weekly meetings with community groups and leaders. The Open House event is an opportunity for those who have not attended previous meetings to catch up on ideas identified and discussed by the community and its leadership so far.  Those who have participated from the beginning of the process can view their work and make new connections. Together residents will consider next steps for some Big Ideas identified at previous community meetings. Big Idea topics include:

"Palo has shown its strength and its vision as it continues into the next phase of the recovery process," said Tina Potthoff, Rebuild Iowa Office Communications Director.  "This meeting allows every citizen to have a voice in the rebuilding efforts taking place in their very own community."

Representatives of the City of Palo and Rebuild Iowa Office (RIO) will be on hand to answer questions.  Experienced recovery professionals from FEMA's Long-Term Community Recovery (LTCR) branch will also be on hand to listen to ideas and comments about Palo's future.
