NIH朜ative American Outreach When: April 2324, May 2223June 1113, June 1920, June 25July 3September 1112, 2004 Where: Albuquerque, NM; Westhampton Township, NJ; Hillsborough, NC; Shenandoah Caverns, VA; Pembroke, NC; Millsboro, DE Institute: Office of the Director (OD) For the fourth consecutive year, Office of the Director's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office is coordinating the Native American Powwow Outreach Initiative. The goals of this initiative are to disseminate health care and health research information to Native Americans and support the NIH Strategic Plan to reduce and ultimately eliminate health disparities. Staff from various NIH institutes and centers participate to ensure the success of this program. A key element of the initiative is the the National Library of Medicine's MedlinePlus Internet service demonstration. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research provides wonderful oral-care kits for families, which are a great draw. There's educational literature on a variety of health concerns. This year, OD's EEO will continue this outreach effort by visiting six Powwows. The schedule of powwows is as follows: - April 23�: 21st Annual Gathering of Nations Powwow,

- June 25朖uly 3: 36th Annual Lumbee Homecoming, Pembroke, North Carolina
- September 11�: Nanticoke Annual Powwow, Millsboro, Delaware
