There are six species of anadromous salmonids in the Pacific Northwest that are listed as threatened or endangered by the Endangered Species Act. Most of the research conducted in the Watershed Program is designed to assist with recovery planning for salmon at some level. The work involves assessments of current and historical habitat conditions and salmon populations, ecosystem and watershed processes and functions affecting salmon and their habitat, and evaluation of restoration actions as they relate to recovery planning.
