Quantification of the use of adipose fin clips in hatchery salmon

Physiology/Endocrinology

Hatchery Monitoring

Project Title
Quantification of the use of adipose fin clips in hatchery salmon

Description
I am collecting a variety of hatchery information on pacific salmon from federal, state, Indian and local agencies throughout the Northwest. This information will be disseminated to interested parties from a database. Detailed information is currently being collected on the use of adipose fin clips in each hatchery that releases coho or chinook salmon. The goal is to quantify the use of adipose fin clips in hatchery salmon, and identify conflicting uses of adipose fin clips and their associated costs. This information will be used to support practical management decisions involving the identification of hatchery and wild fish in natural spawning escapements.
