Aviation Safety Training

Aviation safety training is an essential component of the NOAA Aviation Safety Program.  The following table outlines training requirements for qualified non-crewmembers participating in Mission Operations flights for NOAA:

Note: NOAA Personnel may request more frequent training than what is listed above

Helicopter Emergency Egress Device (HEED) requires specialized training

NOAA ALSE or equipment of similar design should be used in the training environment whenever possible.

Managers can use the Aviation Safety Training Tracker spreadsheet as a tool to track employees that have completed the training or require refresher training.
