| Project Hope Transfers Patients |

| US Navy medical professionals and non-governmental organization "Project HOPE" volunteers prepare a patient for transfer to USNS mercy for treatment, on Feb. 11, 2005. Mercy is currently on station off the coast of Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia, to provide medical assistance and disaster relief in conjunction with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to the people of Indonesia affected by the devastating tsunami on Dec. 26, 2004. Mercy and its crew of medical and support personnel, civilian mariners,Uniformed Public Health Service and the NGO, "Project Hope" and its volunteers are poised to provide medical services immediately as requested by the host-nation.
