Biography

Much of Dr. Gift’s work at CDC has been in the area of cost-effectiveness analysis, particularly the cost-effectiveness of different approaches to chlamydia and gonorrhea screening and treatment. He has examined the cost-effectiveness of test selection, treatment regimen, and selective versus universal screening in a variety of settings, both in the United States and abroad.

His current work is focused on evaluating the cost-effectiveness of screening men for chlamydia and of various methods of expedited treatment for partners of patients diagnosed with chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis.

Dr. Gift was a Steven Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellow. He holds a PhD and MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BA from the University of Colorado-Denver.
