Slope Map of CoAxial Segment

The slope map of the CoAxial segment was made from a 100-m-grid of
SeaBeam bathymetry by taking the 2-D gradient at each grid cell.
The slope map image is displayed so that steep slopes are dark and
gentle slopes are light in tone. This presentation gives a remarkable
amount of information about the texture and morphology of the seafloor.
The limits of the map are 45.9 to 46.8 in latitude and -130.1 to -129.3
in longitude, and include the summit of Axial seamount (in the lower
left) and the southern end of the Cobb segment (in the upper right).
