Loansome Doc

PubMed uses an automated document ordering program called Loansome Doc, which allows you to electronically order the full-text of a citation from a local Loansome Doc participating library. You will need to establish an agreement with that library before you can use this ordering feature. The library will provide you with a Library ID, which you will use when setting up the service.

During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to search for a Loansome Doc provider in your area (U.S. and International). Carefully review the information displayed to identify a library that can provide the service you desire. Some libraries require users to contact them prior to Loansome Doc registration. Fees and services vary among libraries. The service is generally not free of charge, so you may want to find out about ordering fees from multiple libraries.

Users in the United States can learn which medical libraries in your area participate in the Loansome Doc ordering service by calling your Regional Medical Library at 1-800-338-7657, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in all time zones, or go to: http://nnlm.gov/members.

In Canada, you can also contact the Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI) at 1-800-668-1222 for information about libraries in your area.
