Maintaining NOAA Dive Certifications

Requirements for maintaining NOAA Dive Certifications are as follows:

Dive Proficiency:

  • Should log 2 dives per month
  • Must conduct at least 1 dive every 6-weeks (non-duty dives count)
  • Authorization to dive will be suspended if the above is not met

Physical Requirements:

  • Dive physical must be submitted through UDS to NDC per age-based interval
  • Physical is reviewed and approved by NDC

Training Requirements:

  • Must submit evidence of yearly refresher training (Dive accident drill, oxygen administration refresher, etc.)
  • CPR and First Aid as required by certifying agency
