Congratulations Lisa!!

I just wanted to thank you again for giving me this great educational opportunity. I averaged a 98.85% in the class, and couldn't be happier with what I achieved within these past couple of months. Operation Life Transformed really gave me something to be proud of. Now I am looking forward to working in a             professional environment and being confident in what I do while helping to provide for my family along with my husband. I really appreciate all you've done to help so far, and am glad you will continue to be by my side in furthering my education.

Hi OLT
It was very refreshing to talk to you on the telephone today. It was fantastic to talk to someone who understands first hand the issues that military spouses face when trying to find employment. As you pointed out, for many of us, even the simplest of positions are out of reach because of our ‘pick-up and go’ lifestyles...Read more..

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania but call Boise Idaho home. I was raised in Idaho and graduated there from high school. I then went on to Boise State University where I attended 3 years. I dropped out of college my 4th year so I could take care of my brother, Casey, who was severely injured in a car accident. Along with Casey I have 2 more brothers and a sister, Natalie, whom I raised.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer not long after Natalie was born and has been battling for life since then. She has proven that life is not easy but always worth the fight.

I would like to go back and continue my education to enable me to work from home. I have been in the restaurant business for over 15 years and the hours and physical demands have taken a toll. In addition my husband and I have started a family and changing careers will allow me to have a better quality of life. No more missed celebrations, holidays and weekends. Working from home will provides me with flexible with time management that works around my family and is also better for me physically.

My husband is a Major in the Marine Corp and is stationed at TBS. With luck he will be here for a full year before returning to the long absences necessary for his work. Another reason working from home is so important due to the high cost of day care and the absence of family support. We recently moved from North Carolina where I worked in food and beverage for a country club. Unfortunately with moving I was forced to leave my job and start over again. Another asset of working online, not having to leave your job every few years when my husband is required to move .

It is important for me to contribute to my family financially. Due to the current housing market we are supporting 2 mortgages, one in NC and now one here in VA. I also need support my family obligations with Natalie in school, my mom and of course the everyday challenges we all face with growing families. Studying on line and working from home are crucial at this point in life. The ability to work full time and also see my family is important. It is an essential part in my next journey to change. It allows me to contribute to my family, my financial obligations and my physical health.

I thank you for you time and attention. I know how precious it is.
