The historic Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center is situated alongside downtown Roanoke in the heart of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, just minutes from Roanoke Regional Airport. Built in 1882, the beautifully restored Tudor-style Hotel Roanoke is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel is centrally located within Roanoke, featuring a variety of restaurants, shopping, and other attractions within walking distance. Several sites of interest can be found here. The hotel is owned by Virginia Tech and managed by Doubletree Hotels.
CHREC participants are responsible for their own lodging. Two blocks of rooms are being held at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center until April 30, 2009.
A limited number of government rate rooms are available for $96 per night, single and $116 per night, double for federal and state employees. When reserving online, please be sure the Group/Convention Code "CH1" to receive the conference government rate. Upon arrival, you will be expected to produce a photo ID issued by your employer in order to qualify for this rate.
An additional block of conference rate rooms is also available for $134 per night, single and $154 per night, double. When reserving online, please be sure the Group/Convention Code "CH2" to receive the conference rate. Additionally, these rates are valid for a few days before and after the conference, in case you would like to extend your visit.

The Roanoke Valley Regional Airport (ROA) is only a few minutes from The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport and The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center is available. Exit 143 (I-581 South) to Exit 5; cross Wells Avenue and continue to the main entrance of the hotel.
220N becomes I-581N. Take exit 4E (Orange Avenue); turn right at the first traffic light onto Williamson Road. After the third traffic light, turn right on Shenandoah Avenue and take the first right to main entrance of the hotel.
460 becomes Orange Avenue. Turn left at the traffic light at Williamson Road and Orange Avenue. After the third traffic light, turn right on Shenandoah Avenue. Take the first right to main entrance of the hotel.
