Executive Officer - LT Lindsay Kurelja, Hometown: Estes Park, CO

Been on Oregon II since, May 2, 2008.

LT Lindsay Kurelja hails from Estes Park, CO. She has been a NOAA Corps Officer for 6 years. LT Kurelja graduated from Texas A&M Galveston in 2001 with a BS in Marine Biology, License Option. She hold a USCG Third Mate-Unlimited Tonnage license. LT Kurelja has previously served as Junior Officer, NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter; Marine Operations Officer, Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary; Executive Officer, Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. LT Kurelja enjoys kayaking, gardening, yoga and biking.

Navigation Officer

Operations Officer- ENS Colin Kliewer, Hometown: Duncanville, TX

Been on Oregon II since, December 2006.

ENS Kliewer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology and a Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Development from Texas A&M University . He enjoys technical scuba diving when time permits. Before joining NOAA, he interned with the National Park Service’s Water Resources Division in Colorado . He has also previously worked as an aquarium biologist and as a diver on the excavation of a Civil War shipwreck near Galveston , TX.

Junior Officer

Navigation Officer - ENS Rachel Sargent, Hometown: Woburn, MA

Been on Oregon II since, June 2008.

ENS Rachel Sargent holds a BS in Marine Safety and Environmental Protection from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Before joining the NOAA Corps, ENS Sargent worked as an Environmental Scientist for Parsons in Pasadena, CA. ENS Sargent enjoys SCUBA diving, horseback riding, and spending time with friends and family.

Junior Officer

Junior Officer - ENS Aaron Maggied, Hometown: Beachwood, OHWoburn, MA

Been on Oregon II since, December 2008.

ENS Maggied has a BS in Physics and Astronomy from The Ohio State University. He worked in various labs and conducting research, including an industrial coatings laboratory before joining the NOAA Corps. In his spare time he enjoys running, cycling, cooking, and other assorted pastimes.
