RFA CA-99-001, published in the NIH Guide, February 11, 1999, solicits research project grant (R01) applications to stimulate research on new or existing tobacco control interventions relevant to State and community tobacco control programs. This will be achieved by supporting research on innovative tobacco prevention and control interventions at the community, State, or multi-state level. The results of this research will guide tobacco control programs across the Nation, in order to increase program effectiveness and produce real reductions in the prevalence of tobacco use. The full text of the RFA can be accessed at: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-CA-99-001.html. Representatives from the NCI's extramural research programs, Grants Administration Branch and Division of Extramural Activities will be available to provide information and to answer questions relevant to applications responding to this RFA. Transcripts will be available upon request for investigators who are unable to attend.
