American Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD)*
AAHPERD is the largest organization of professionals supporting and
assisting those involved in physical education, leisure, fitness, dance,
health promotion, and education and all specialties related to achieving a
healthy lifestyle.
American College of Sports Medicine*
The American College of Sports Medicine promotes and integrates scientific
research, education, and practical applications of sports medicine and
exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness,
health, and quality of life.
Association for Worksite Health Promotion
(AWHP)*
AWHP is an international association with eight regional U.S. chapters, each
with an elected Board of Directors, and two Canadian chapters as well as a
chapter in the United Kingdom. Regional chapters hold activities such as
conferences, state meetings and workshops at reduced rates to AWHP members.
Cooper Institute for Aerobic
Research*

National Association for Health

The National Association for Health & Fitness (NAHF) is a nonprofit

National Coalition for Promoting Physical
Activity (NCPPA)*

National Center on Physical Activity and
Disability (NCPAD)*

and Sports
The mission of the President's Council for Physical Fitness and Sports is to
coordinate and promote opportunities in physical activity, fitness, and
sports for all Americans.
World Health Organization (WHO)*
Founded in 1948, the World Health Organization leads the world alliance for
Health for All. A specialized agency of the United Nations with 191 Member
States, WHO promotes technical cooperation for health among nations, carries
out programs to control and eradicate disease and strives to improve the
quality of human life.
