DESCRIPTION

The above reference combined synopsis/solicitation is hereby amended to included questions and answers listed below.

  1. What specifically does the National Science Foundation desire as an outcome from the Strategic Planning Training?

Our desired outcome is that each of these two teams writes a strategic plan and is provided with training and coaching.

The overall outcome is that each of these groups will leave with a rough draft of their strategic plan and have the ability to complete and implement this strategic plan on their own.

  1. What do you individually and as a group want for an outcome?

This will provide them (two distinct PI teams) with the basic strategic planning skills and coaching to best position them to succeed in the Phase II competition.

And for each team to leave with a good start on their strategic plan, understanding the steps required to complete the strategic plan, and the relevance of their plan to their future NSF funding and research/education/outreach efforts.

  1. What has to happen for you/the group to achieve that outcome?

The contractor shall possess the ability to guide these motivated participants into successful collaborative teams.

The contractor’s excellent instruction and coaching shall enable the groups to efficiently and effectively start developing their strategic plan.

  1. How will you/the group be different when you have achieved that outcome? In other words, how will you know you have arrived at the outcome?

Each team to leave with a good start on their strategic plan, understanding the steps required to complete the strategic plan

  1. With reference to the two-day conference, what is your objective? E.g., do you expect the participants to have only the understanding of a strategic plan, or a specific product at the end?

NSF's objective is that each of these groups will leave with a rough draft of their strategic plan and have the ability to complete and implement this strategic plan on their own.
