Abstract
|
OAIster serves as a search portal for digital resources such as electronic books, journal articles, dissertations, audio and image files, images, movies and datasets. Metadata is harvested using OAI-PMH (the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). Can be searched by keyword, title, creator, subject or resource type, and searches yield a detailed and well-organized description of the resource and a link to the resource itself. Contains over a 17 million records harvested from over 1000 institutions as of August 2008.
