Oil and Gas ExtractionProgram DescriptionOil and Gas Extraction is a subsector of the Mining Sector. The goal of the Oil and Gas Extraction Subsector Program is to reduce the rate of injury and disease among workers in the oil and gas extraction industry by implementing effective interventions. This program identifies safety and health problems through information gained from interactions with industry, workers, and safety organizations to develop practical solutions and effective outcomes using surveillance, hazard assessment, intervention development, implementation of interventions, and transfer of these technologies to industry. This program seeks to fulfill its goals through the following:
