The MCH Research Program works to improve the health of mothers, children and adolescents by supporting important research that has the potential to improve health services and delivery of care for maternal and child health populations.
Funding Opportunity for HRSA-09-001 MCH Research Program competition (project start date: February 1, 2009) was due on August 4, 2008 and is now closed. It is expected that the next competition will be due in summer 2009. Please contact the MCH Research Program with questions on any of these competitions.
The MCH Research Program has adopted four Strategic Research Issues to guide the program from 2004 through 2009. Prospectvie applicants are strongly encouraged to submit research proposals that address one or more of these Strategic Issues.
Funding opportunity for HRSA-10-006 R40 MCH Research Program competition (project start date: February 1, 2010) is not yet available. The expected application due date is around July 2009. Both the multi-year research awards (up to $300,000 per year for up to 3 years) and the Secondary Data Analyis Studies (SDAS) awards (up to $100,000 for one year) will be competed. We are expecting to fund approximately 9 multi-year projects and 15 SDAS projects.
Two new competitions will also be released for FY 2009: R40 MCH Autism Intervention Research Program will support up to four (4) two-year research projects and R40 MCH Autism Intervention Secondary Data Analysis Studies (SDAS) Program will support up to four (4) one-year projects utilizing exclusively the analysis of secondary data. Both competitions will have a project start date of September 1, 2009.
