Notice of Proposed Rescission of February 4, 2004, Order and Subsequent Amendments Prohibiting the Importation of Birds and Bird Products from Specified Countries

On Wednesday, January 21, 2009, HHS/CDC posted a Notice of Proposed Rescission to begin the process of lifting the HHS/CDC embargo of birds and unprocessed bird products from specified countries to ensure a more coordinated federal response to the control of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1.  This Notice is intended to solicit public comment and feedback on this proposal.  Please see the Notice of Proposed Rescission (on Regulations.gov site).  The period for public comment on the Notice is open until February 20, 2009.
