Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for the City of Los Angeles, California

Shows Changes to the Special Flood Hazard Area for Ballona Creek

LOMR Effective Date: September 29, 2008
Area Affected: Ballona Creek - from approximately 1,000 feet southeast of the intersection of Clyde Avenue and Smiley Avenue to approximately 1,150 feet northeast of the intersection.

Overview/Background

This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) is a reissuance of a LOMR dated May 15, 1996 (Case No. 96-09-681P). The May 15 LOMR revised the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base (1-percent-annual-chance) flood, along Ballona Creek. The May 15 LOMR was not incorporated into the new countywide study that will become effective on September 26, 2008. Therefore, this LOMR reissues the May 15 LOMR for the upcoming effective information shown on the Flood Insurance Rate Map for Los Angeles County, California and Incorporated Areas, dated September 26, 2008. This LOMR does not revise the SFHA boundaries from the May 15 LOMR along the revised reach.
