Advocacy

AGC is the most credible and tireless advocate for the construction industry in Congress, before the federal agencies, the administration, and in the courts.  AGC has a strong and effective team of advocacy professionals located in a townhouse one block from the U.S. Capitol.  The staff works directly with elected officials and government agencies to encourage additional investment in infrastructure, tax policies that promote investment, common-sense tort reform and immigration reform, which are among AGC’s top priorities.

AGC’s legal advocacy staff monitors nationally significant legal cases that either promise to improve or threaten to damage the business environment in the construction industry.  In addition to the government affairs and legal staff, AGC maintains a $1 million political action committee - AGC PAC and a network of grassroots activists give AGC members an opportunity to make their voices heard at all levels of government. All of these programs are vital elements of a successful advocacy effort.
