Data Definitions for Claim Information by State and Policy Information by State

Total losses - All losses submitted regardless of the status.

Closed losses - Losses that have been paid.

Open losses - Losses that have not been paid in full.

CWOP losses - Losses that have been closed without payment.

Total Payments - Total amount paid on losses.

Dummy-Unknown - A one-time category used when losses were submitted by the lender rather than the insured.

Unknown - This category is used when the data sent to the NFIP contains an invalid NFIP Community ID. Since the state is determined from the ID, and the ID cannot be matched, the data is placed in the unknown category.

Policy Information by State

Policies In Force - Policies in force on the "as of" date of the report.

Insurance In Force - The coverage amount for policies in force.

Written Premium In Force - The premium paid for policies in force.

Unknown - This category is used when the data sent to the NFIP contains an invalid NFIP Community ID. Since the state is determined from the ID, and the ID cannot be matched, the data is placed in the unknown category.
