1 . "Oops! The username and/or password is not valid"?

You have entered either your username or password incorrectly. Quit your browser, verify that you are using the correct NIH Login username and password, re-open your browser, and try again. Insure that your CAPS LOCK key is not on.

2 . At login, the screen reloads with a blank password box?

This may be an incorrect password or something very unusual entered for the username (like an e-mail address). Verify what you have entered in the username field.

If the page is reloading instead of giving an explicit "bad password error" it is usually because NIH Login is not sure which account you are trying to use. This usually points to a username problem; a password reset request may be necessary to correct the problem.

7 . "Single Sign-on" error message?

This error occurs when either the user has been registered with a new account or the username was changed. If either is the case, you should wait for the overnight synchronization of the directories to incorporate the changes and registrations. If this requires immediate attention, click here to report the problem to the NIH Help Desk.
