CHICAGO, Ill. -- Families, individuals and businesses in Illinois affected by mid-September's severe storms and flooding have been approved to receive more than $29.3 million in federal disaster assistance.

Officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), announced the latest figures today, four weeks after a federal disaster was declared for seven northeastern counties.
