SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- State and federal disaster officials will hold five briefings to help representatives from state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations in 15 counties apply for federal disaster assistance in the wake of recent severe storms and flooding.
The briefings will be held at the following locations, dates and times, according to officials from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The briefings will provide information about FEMA's Public Assistance (Infrastructure) program for debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair, restoration or replacement of public facilities or infrastructure that were damaged during the June 1 and continuing severe storms and flooding.
These meetings do not address FEMA's Individual Assistance program for homeowners, renters and business owners.
FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
