INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- FEMA's Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Bicknell closed Tuesday, June 24 and reopened Wednesday, June 25 as a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC), federal and state disaster officials announced today. This center will remain at the same location: 11728 East State Road 67, Bicknell, IN 47512. The Bicknell DLOC will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday, July 2.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and SBA opened the DRCs to provide face-to-face assistance and disaster information to individuals and business owners who suffered damage from the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred during the period of May 30 and continuing.

The Bicknell DRC has assisted 52 Knox County residents since opening June 21.  Applicants can continue to reach federal recovery experts online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- and hearing-impaired. Both lines are operational 24 hours daily until further notice.

SBA representatives will continue to provide Knox County homeowners, renters and business owners with personal assistance in completing their loan applications, answering questions about the SBA's loan program and explaining how an SBA loan can help pay for their disaster losses.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
