(Peoria) – Are you looking for an excuse to act a little spacey? If so, then dress up in your favorite space creature costume and head on out to the Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant on Saturday, October 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. for an out of this world Meteor Shower Event!
At 7:30 p.m., Tony LaConte of Stargazing for Everyone will bring the universe to the audience in a presentation that covers star and constellation names as well as interesting stories. The fun-filled evening will also include a costume contest, cool mad scientist activities for the kids and alien life forms native to the Sonoran desert.
As an added bonus, Mother Nature will be disbursing numerous glowing meteors across the night sky. Guests will be able to view the meteors, planets, star clusters, nebulas, and galaxies through a number of telescopes, including a large 12” NASA telescope.
Dress up in your favorite costume, jump into your shuttlecraft and moon walk to the Desert Outdoor Center located at 41402 N 87th Ave in Peoria. Concession packs consisting of a hamburger, soda and chips will be available for a small fee. Guests are encouraged to bring water and a comfortable chair.
